Your workplace. Your team. Your soup. Real impact.
Soup Day is a simple workplace fundraiser where your team brings, shares, or purchases soup together; raising funds that support The Soup Box's local cycle of care.
What is Soup Day?
Soup Day is a workplace fundraiser that turns an ordinary lunch break into something meaningful.
Your team comes together over soup (homemade, purchased, or catered), shares a meal across one day or a whole week in August, and raises funds that go directly towards supporting The Soup Box's mission: connecting regional farmers with people in our community doing it tough, through fresh, nourishing food.
Simple, warm, and genuinely impactful: soup, your team, and a community that is better for it.
Step 2.
Add an extra item to your shop and donate it to us.
While you're shopping, you can add just one or two extra items into your bag and drop them into The Soup Box collection point at the market. A bunch of carrots. A bag of potatoes. You can fill up a whole box if you want to. Whatever is in season, whatever you feel like, bought from local farmers.
You become part of something much larger.

Register your workplace, receive your Soup Day host pack, and host your lunch. That is it.
Step 1.
Register your workplace.
Choose a day to host your workplace Soup Day in August.
Complete the registration form.
Your $50 kickstart donation is a flat fee per business per location. This fee is paid once you have registered your business.
Once registered, you will receive confirmation and your physical Soup Day host pack will be delivered directly to your workplace.
Step 2.
Receive your Host Pack.
Everything you need to run a successful Soup Day arrives in your host pack. Physical materials include posters, table talkers, dietary label cards, and a donation QR code sign linked directly to The Soup Box's GiveNow page. Digital materials include your host guide, internal email templates and social media material.
Your pack is designed so any business can run a great Soup Day without having to create a single thing from scratch.
Step 3.
Host Your Soup Day.
Choose a single day or run it across a whole week.
- Brief your team using the ready-to-send email templates.
- Invite co-workers, clients, or neighbours to join in.
- Bring a pot of soup, or three.
- Set up your table using the host guide and checklist.
- Share a meal.
- Collect donations through the QR code.
- Take a team photo and share it.
Step 4.
Celebrate and share.
All donations go directly through The Soup Box's GiveNow donation portal. There is no cash handling, no bank transfers, and no admin burden on your team. GiveNow issues receipts automatically.
After your event you will receive a post-event impact summary so your team can see exactly what their lunch contributed to.
Share your impact across your social media (don't forget to tag The Soup Box)

Food insecurity is about more than hunger, and farm viability is about more than weather.
ABARES reports that average broadacre farm cash income fell by 41% in 2023-24, one of the sharpest single-year declines on record.(1) At the same time, Foodbank Australia reports that 3.5 million Australian households are currently experiencing food insecurity, meaning families are reducing the quality and variety of their food, or going without entirely(2).
These pressures are real, they are local, and they are connected.
The Soup Box exists because supporting the people who grow our food and feeding the people in our community doing it tough are not two separate acts. They are the same one.
Every dollar raised through Soup Day supports a local cycle of care: regional farmers get a market for their produce, community organisations receive better ingredients to work with, and people doing it tough receive meals made with dignity and care.
When your workplace hosts a Soup Day, you are joining a community that has decided to take care of its own.
- ABARES, via Grain Central, October 2023, www.graincentral.com.
- Foodbank Australia, Hunger in Australia, www.foodbank.org.au/hunger-in-australia
"Each Soup Box activates a local cycle of care: supporting farmers, strengthening community economies, and turning fresh produce into nourishing meals that restore dignity, health, and connection."
How are our donations used?
All donations made on Soup Day are collected through GiveNow, Australia's trusted not-for-profit giving platform. GiveNow processes all contributions securely and issues transaction receipts to donors automatically.
Every dollar raised goes towards supporting The Soup Box's local food model.
The Soup Box is a registered not-for-profit community initiative governed by a board committed to financial transparency and strategic accountability. The allocation of funds is determined by the board to ensure maximum community impact, including:
The purchase of fresh, seasonal produce from regional farmers at the Toowoomba Farmers Market
The operational costs that keep The Soup Box running each season
The growth of The Soup Box model into new communities across Australia from 2027
Please note: The Soup Box is a registered not-for-profit but does not currently hold Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status. Donations are not tax deductible at this time. Transaction receipts are issued automatically through GiveNow for your records. We are working towards our Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status.
Participating businesses receive a post-event impact summary detailing what their fundraising contributed to. For businesses with formal CSR or community giving reporting requirements, this summary can be used as supporting documentation.

Why should our workplace participate?
It is genuinely simple.
No venue hire. No external organiser. No complicated logistics. Soup Day happens in your workplace, during a lunch break, with your existing team. Run it for a day or a whole week. The host pack does the heavy lifting.
It creates real community impact
Funds raised go directly towards supporting The Soup Box's local food model, connecting regional farmers with people in our community doing it tough through fresh, nourishing food. Your team can see exactly what their lunch contributed to through a post-event impact summary.
It brings your team together
Shared meals create connection. Soup Day gives your team a reason to step away from their desks, sit together, and contribute to something larger than their day-to-day work. That matters for team culture in a way that another meeting never will.
It supports your CSR commitments.
For businesses with formal Corporate Social Responsibility programmes or community giving obligations, Soup Day provides documented, measurable community impact. Your post-event impact summary gives you the data you need for internal reporting, board papers, or stakeholder communications.
It connects you to something growing
The Soup Box is going national in 2027. Businesses who participate in the pilot season become part of the founding story of a community initiative expanding across Australia. That is a genuine point of difference for businesses who want their community investment to mean something beyond a one-off donation.
